Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
LaneCaddie ("LaneCaddie," "we," "us") is built by Quack Quack Labs LLC. This policy explains what data the LaneCaddie iOS and Apple Watch app and the lanecaddie.com website collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed LaneCaddie to keep your data minimal and on your device wherever possible.
1. Data we collect
- Bowling & motion data. Scores, sessions, and the wrist-motion signals used to detect shots and compute per-shot metrics. This is processed on your device and stored locally and in your personal iCloud account.
- Health data (optional). If you grant HealthKit access, we read and/or write workout duration, heart rate, and active energy. Health data stays within Apple Health and your device; we do not transmit it to our servers.
- Purchase data. Subscription status is managed by Apple via StoreKit. We receive a purchase/entitlement signal from Apple, not your payment details.
- Analytics. Privacy-respecting, aggregate usage analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking) for the website and basic app diagnostics.
- Advertising (free tier). The free tier shows non-targeted ads. Ad SDKs may process limited device data as described in their own policies.
- Email you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and message.
2. How we use it
- To detect shots, score games, and show your stats and motion trends.
- To deliver and restore your subscription entitlements.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the app.
- To respond to support, press, and legal inquiries.
We do not sell or share your session, motion, or health data with advertisers, and we do not run an email marketing program.
3. Third-party processors
- Apple — iCloud storage, HealthKit, StoreKit, and App Store distribution.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and inbound email forwarding for our
@lanecaddie.comaddresses. - Advertising network(s) — non-targeted ad delivery on the free tier.
We do not list an email-marketing processor because LaneCaddie has no email program.
4. Your rights & choices
- Decline permissions. You can use core scoring without granting HealthKit access.
- Delete your data. Deleting the app removes local data; you can also delete LaneCaddie data from iCloud in iOS settings. Email legal@lanecaddie.com for assistance.
- Export. Motion-tier users can export session data to CSV from within the app.
- Opt-out of ads. Any paid tier removes ads entirely.
5. Children
LaneCaddie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
6. Changes
We'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date when this policy changes.
